Way Back When: 1940s Weekend
Way Back When: 1940s is back for its fifth instalment on Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 July 2025!
A sensational weekend of all things vintage and nostalgic. From swingin’ music and classic fashion to wartime resilience.
With rain forecasted this weekend, we’re bringing the fun to the front of the Main House and indoors – so you can swing, sway, and scone away without getting soggy.
Throughout the weekend, you can expect:
– A D-Day presentation at 11.30am
– A number of stunning 40s/military vehicles on display
– British Army cuisine courtesy of 29th Field Kitchen
– An impressive (loud!) firing display
– 1940s Hairstylist
– Classic Wedding Dresses
– Vintage vocalists
– Get your dancing shoes on with Jive Dancing
– 40 Vintage & Handmade themed stalls at the fair including an exquisite range of vintage treasures, couture headwear, antiques, quirky & retro homeware plus stunning handmade creations from some of the North East’s most talented creative artists and crafters.
Entry to our 1940s Weekend is included with Membership or Day Pass
On the weekend we’ll be running a FREE shuttle bus in Ushaw Moor to Ushaw Historic House. Stopping at Durham Academy School, Deerness Gymnastics & Flass Inn.
