Summer Holidays at Ushaw
Daily, 10am – 4pm included with admission:
- Extinction – Discover life-size dinosaur encounters and learn what Extinction means through panels, objects and interactives.
- Family Trails – See if you can find the animals hidden around the garden and practice your sign language and explore Extinction, to complete the i-spy.
- Toy Takeover – We’ll have heaps of track and trains for your young engineers to construct and play to their hearts content.
- Lawn Games & Activities – Football goals, Giant Lawn Games, Hula Hooping, Badminton, Space Hoppers and much more.
- Woodland Playpark – Explore our Woodland Playpark next to the Bounds field.

Tales & Craft | 12, 18, 25 August, 11am & 1:30pm
Dive into a children’s story, then try hands-on craft inspired by the tale.
Saturday Young Stitchers | 15 August, 1pm – 3pm
Young Stitchers welcomes all abilities to hone their skills with the support of ‘Take a Stitch 2 Durham’ group. Pre-booking required here.
Stop Motion Animation | 20 August, 10:30am & 1:30pm
Create your own moving story – will you have dinosaurs hatching, or bunnies hopping?
Summer Singing Bunnies | 24 August, 10:30am – 11:15am
Sing, dance, shake, rattle and bang along with talented local musician Rachel Purcell. Pre-booking required here.
Mosaic Makers | 26 August, 10:30am & 1:30pm
Come and have fun with shapes and colours, using glass pieces to make mosaic tiles.
Ushaw Classic Car & Bike Show | 30 August, 10am – 4pm
A family-friendly day with a stunning display of vintage, classic and modern classics in the historic grounds of Ushaw.
Inflatable Golf | 30 August, 10am – 4pm
Join us for a day filled with fun as we’ll be joined by Beamish Park Golf Club with their Inflatable Golf experience.
