







Big Bang: A Summer Space Day
On Saturday 28 June 2025, prepare for lift-off! Ushaw is blasting into orbit for a one-day cosmic celebration of science, space and summer fun like no other. Whether you’re a mini astronaut, seasoned stargazer, or just curious about the cosmos β this is your launchpad to adventure.
From 10am – 4pm, Out-of-this-World Activities Include:
π The NASA Zone
Step inside an interactive NASA Space Grant experience and discover how humans are heading back to the Moon β and beyond!
π¨βπ Astronaut Training CampΒ
Course of basic, space themed obstacles led by an astronaut instructor (actor) with the help of a friendly alien.
π Planetarium Shows
Lie back and take a guided tour of the stars inside our inflatable dome.
π Space Costume Contest
Dress to impress β aliens, astronauts, galaxies and glitter welcome. Prizes up for grabs!
π― Summer Fair Games β with a Galactic Twist
Classic games get a cosmic upgrade. Ever tried space ring toss?
π Kielder Observatory
Join the Kielder Observatory astronomers and have a go at solar observing.

See the stunning artwork and captivating cosmic observatory on board a converted school bus.
