Extinction

Extinction affects us all and one in ten of our wildlife in the UK is critically endangered. Scientists have identified five periods of mass extinction over the geological record and the question is now being asked: are we in a sixth? The exhibition will also have a life size baby triceratops and a life size utahraptor on display.

Extinction addresses this fascinating topic and journeys through the demise of the dinosaurs and marine reptiles, death of the ice age mammoths and the impact of humans on the dodo.

Through a mix of information panels, replica objects and interactives, the exhibition asks the questions; what is extinction? What causes extinction, and what can we do about it? Topics covered include climate change, biodiversity and wildlife law. The exhibition aims to increase awareness of extinction themes and what individuals can do to make a difference.

On display from Saturday 20 June – Sunday 8 November, entry included with admission and membership.
