Step into a world of wonder at Ushaw, where families can enjoy FREE creative workshops, hands-on activities, and inspiring crafts—all set against the stunning backdrop of our historic estate. With live performances and plenty to spark young imaginations, it’s the perfect day out for curious creators, budding bookworms, and adventurous little minds.

Story Craft Theatre joins us with interactive performances of Once Upon a Fairytale – Goldilocks is missing and we need your help to find her!

Elizabeth Baker Experienced writer and storyteller. Elizabeth Baker, spends a lot of time creating stories about all sorts of fascinating ancient objects and she will share some ideas and resources to help you plan your own story.

Lorraine Hall participate in an illustration workshop based on Lorraine’s latest publication. Using A Storm Like No Other, design your own smog character and bring it to life using watercolours. Working with the author of the book, Kirsty Lewton – you will be guided in the creation and description of their characters.
