Construction Begins at Ushaw on New 100+ Space Car Park

Ushaw Historic House, Chapels & Gardens is delighted to announce the commencement of construction on a brand new car park, marking an important step in enhancing visitor experience as the site continues to grow and develop. The project will deliver over 100 parking spaces and is set for completion by April 2025.

As Ushaw welcomes more visitors each year, this new car park will ensure a smoother and more convenient journey for guests, providing improved accessibility and ease of access to the site’s historic house, chapels, gardens, exhibitions, and café. By investing in better infrastructure, Ushaw is reinforcing its commitment to offering a welcoming and enjoyable experience for families, couples, and groups exploring the rich history and culture the venue has to offer.

Ady Davis, Head Gardener at Ushaw said; I am so pleased that this project has begun after a year of planning. I would like to extend my thanks to Durham County Council for their support, along with the Esh Group and JC Consulting who helped us to survey and draw up the plans required for the planning permission.

The construction work, led by Wharton Landscapes of Esh Winning, will take place over the coming weeks with minimal disruption to existing visitor access. By April 2025, guests will be able to enjoy the benefits of the new car park, which supports Ushaw’s ongoing mission to develop and enhance its visitor offer.
