To celebrate our amazing exhibition From Edinburgh to London & Beyond: Railway Posters from the Golden Age of Travel, we have a whole host of train-themed Easter Holiday activities to keep the whole family entertained.
Ushaw Express with Go Loco Miniature Railway
Saturday 9th – Monday 18th April, 11am – 4pm (Drop-in)
All aboard the Ushaw Express! Delight your young ones with a ride on the miniature railway along the former pond. The railway will be the longest that Go Loco Miniature Railway have ever run!
No pre-booking required, included with Ushaw Annual Pass and Daily Admission. Ushaw Express with Go Loco Miniature Railway is funded by Durham County Council.
Trainmaster Takeover
Monday 11th April, Friday 15th April & Monday 18th April, 11am – 3pm (Drop-in)
Ushaw proudly present three Trainmaster Takeover days. Trainmaster will be chuffing into our beautiful Historic House with heaps of track and trains for your young engineers to construct and play to their hearts content. Come and get your hands on a train set big enough to take over an entire room.

Saturday 9th – Sunday 24th April, 11am – 4pm (Drop-in)
Alongside our exhibition From Edinburgh to London & Beyond: Railway Posters from the Golden Age of Travel, children can take a detailed look at the dazzling colours and artistry in our Eye Spy Style Activity Sheet. What will you spot when you look at the posters close-up?
