Live Theatre at Ushaw on Friday 25th March 2022
What’s better than one theatre performance? TWO!
On Friday 25th March, enjoy a day out as we’re hosting two Theatre performances right here at Ushaw Exhibition Theatre.
1pm – 2pm | Ingenue: Deanna Durbin and the Golden Age of Hollywood.
“Ingenue” tells the true story of the lifelong friendship between two classic stars of Old Hollywood. Featuring the songs: ‘Someone to Care for Me’, ‘Molly Malone’, ‘Always’, and ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow.’
3:15pm – 4:15pm | Stitch in Time: A Knitting Cabaret
Expect an exciting afternoon of needlepoint and music with a scintillating selection of the lost knitting songs of WWI and WWII from Canada, Britain, America and France. We encouraged you to to bring your own knitting (or crochet) and stitch along to these funny, poignant, toe-tapping, needle-clicking tunes.
Both performances are by Canada’s Melanie Gall. She has toured the world singing Opera at some of the world’s most renowned venues but also has a passion for quirky musical tales uncovered from the corners of history. She arrives at Ushaw as part of a whistle stop tour of the North East following what will undoubtedly be another sell-out year on the Australian Fringe circuit.
In a special bundle for Mother’s Day weekend, treat mum to tickets for both performances, meet the stars of the show with High Tea (hot beverage, scone and cake) in the Refectory Cafe at 2pm and free entry to our House, Chapels and Gardens all for the price of £20! (On sale until Tuesday 22nd March 2022)
