Discover Early Manuscripts at Ushaw is our new exhibition celebrating Ushaw’s collection of Medieval manuscripts!
Learn about how a manuscript is made, the colours and techniques used and the people who owned them. Ushaw’s oldest manuscript dates back to the 8th century, roughly contemporary with the Lindisfarne Gospels.
We also have 19th century manuscripts created by Ushaw’s students inspired by our Medieval ones.
Access to Discover Early Manuscripts at Ushaw is free for those with an Ushaw Annual Pass and included with Daily Admission.
